The core idea is simple: instead of your money being scattered across several banks, brokers, and spreadsheets, it all lives in a single net-worth view. Bank accounts, investments, property, credits, and cash sit side by side, with values updated automatically. It is built for Europe, with Portugal first. You can [explore transactions, investments and loans on the homepage](https://guito.app/#funcionalidades) before creating an account. Calculators work without registration. To organise your own data, start with a free account; bank synchronisation is included in [Plus](/en/account/plans-and-pricing). To start using it, see [Create your account](/en/getting-started/create-account) and [Connect your bank](/en/getting-started/connect-your-bank). ## Everything in one place Bank accounts, synced automatically or managed manually, with balances and transactions. A portfolio of stocks, ETFs, funds, crypto, and Portuguese savings certificates (Certificados de Aforro), with market value and gains calculated automatically. Real estate, vehicles, jewellery, collectibles, and other assets. Mortgages, personal loans, car loans, and other borrowing. From this data, guito calculates your **net worth**: the sum of all assets minus liabilities. The **Overview** page shows that figure, the breakdown by category, a chart of how it has changed over time, and your largest positions. ## How it is organised The app is split into sections, reached from the sidebar: on a wide screen it is always visible; on a narrow one, open it from the menu button at the top of the page. The **Overview** is the starting point. Below it, in the order they appear, come **Activity**, **Plans** — your Budgets and Goals — **Wealth**, which groups the pages where you manage each part (Accounts, Investments, Property & valuables, and Credits), and **Tools**. The **Activity** section holds **Cash flow**, the list of everything that came in and went out of your accounts, and **Recurring**, the commitments that repeat regularly — weekly through annual. **Tools** is where you find the **Connections** to your banks and the **Calculators**, with simulators such as income tax (IRS), net salary, and mortgage payments. ## How your data reaches guito Data reaches guito in three ways, depending on the type of asset: * **Automatic sync (open banking).** For bank accounts, transactions and balances come in automatically once you connect the bank; access is always authorised at your own bank. This is the path described in [Connect your bank](/en/getting-started/connect-your-bank). * **Market quotes.** For investments, your portfolio is built from the buys and sells you record — or synced automatically if you connect your broker — and the market value updates from those quotes. * **Manual entries.** For anything that does not sync (property, credits, and accounts without an automatic connection), values are managed by hand and feed the calculation in the same way.
