# Savings certificates

> Add and track Portuguese savings certificates and their value over time.

guito supports Portuguese savings certificates (Certificados de Aforro) indexed to Euribor, series D, E and F.

## Add a certificate

  <Step title="Open Investments">
    Open **Investments** in the sidebar and click **Add**.

  <Step title="Search for your certificate">
    Search for your certificate series in the same search box used for stocks and crypto, then select it.

  <Step title="Fill in the subscription details">
    * **Operation**: choose **Subscribe**.
    * **Date**: the subscription date.
    * **Value**: the subscribed amount.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Confirm">
    Click **Add transaction** to save.

## Track its value

Once you've added it, guito calculates its value with compound interest based on the official Euribor rates and keeps the estimate current over time. The value shown is net — the 28% withholding tax on interest is already deducted.

  The Free plan lets you track up to 2 savings certificates. Plus raises the limit to 50.

## Record a redemption

To record a redemption, open the certificate and enter the amount to redeem. You have to pick which subscription (lot) the amount comes out of — each redemption is drawn from a single lot.

You can record a redemption from a series that no longer takes subscriptions. Series E, for example, stopped taking subscriptions on 2 June 2023, and redemptions after that date are accepted as usual. Only a new subscription has to be dated before the series closed.

  The subscription you pick affects the realised gain, because each lot earns different interest and a different loyalty premium depending on its age.
